Wiserta policy
Cookies and privacy choices.
Effective September 12, 2026
This policy explains the browser storage, cookies, pixels and similar technologies used on wiserta.com. Optional analytics and marketing providers do not load until you accept the relevant category.
How choice works
When Wiserta does not have a current choice, the site asks whether you want to allow optional analytics and marketing technologies. These categories are separate. Choosing essential only does not prevent you from browsing the Shop, opening free tools, contacting support or buying through secure Paddle checkout.
Wiserta records the category choice in your browser for up to 180 days. After that, the site asks again. A provider may create its own cookies only after the category that permits it has been accepted.
Essential storage
wiserta_consent- Local browser storage that remembers analytics and marketing choices for up to 180 days.
This essential record does not contain payment-card details, uploaded genealogy files, form text or family facts.
Cloudflare may process limited network and device information for website delivery, security and bot protection. Turnstile runs only where a protected form needs an anti-abuse check. Paddle may use storage needed to open and protect the checkout after you deliberately start a purchase. These functions are not used to add you to marketing.
Analytics — only after opt-in
If you allow analytics, Wiserta may load Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregated traffic, navigation problems and page usefulness.
- Wiserta first-party measurement: creates
wiserta_session_idandwiserta_attributionin session storage only after analytics consent. They expire when the browser session ends. - Google Analytics 4: may use cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*. Google states that the default expiration for these identifiers is up to two years, subject to the configured retention and your browser controls. - Microsoft Clarity: may use identifiers such as
_clckand short-lived session records such as_clskfor consented heatmaps and session recordings. Provider-controlled periods can include an identifier lasting up to one year and shorter session storage.
Wiserta does not intentionally send names, email addresses, family facts, uploaded files or free-form field content to these analytics services.
Marketing — only after opt-in
If you allow marketing technologies, Wiserta may load Meta Pixel and Pinterest Tag for advertising measurement and campaign attribution. Meta and Pinterest may read or set provider-controlled cookies or similar identifiers. Pinterest documents identifiers including _pin_unauth, which may persist for up to one year. Wiserta does not use these tools unless marketing consent is active. Any future Google Ads, LinkedIn or TikTok tag must remain disabled until it is configured, listed in this policy and covered by the same prior marketing choice.
Change your choice
Use the Privacy choices button in the footer at any time. Rejecting optional services is available in one step from the first banner. Withdrawing analytics or marketing consent takes effect for future loading and reloads the page so the active optional vendor session is cleared. You can also clear browser storage and provider cookies in your browser settings. Withdrawal does not erase processing that already occurred; use the privacy-request route in the Privacy Policy for an applicable deletion request.
Provider details
Providers can change cookie names and storage periods. Current details are available from Cloudflare, Paddle, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta cookies and Pinterest cookies. For how Wiserta handles personal information and how to contact the controller, read the Privacy Policy.
